About Roxanne

20160427_121402(1)Roxanne Fawley has lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan all of her sixty three years.  She is a happily married (forty-three years and counting!) mother of a son and three daughters.  One daughter has blessed them with three grandchildren. Her youngest has just blessed them with another, (Love you BERDIE!) God is the center of her life; but her family runs a close second.  She is grateful that they all live within thirty minutes of one another.  Everyone she knows enjoys the benefits of her hobbies, photography and card-making.

Most of her life was spent in an ongoing struggle with depression, bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder, borderline personality disorder, and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).  All of this was a result of her volatile upbringing, which included physical and mental as well as sexual abuse.  Her entire family suffered trauma at the hands of her abusive, alcoholic father.

The above two paragraphs sound like two very different people.  In a way, they are.  One was a victim, the other is a survivor.  It took many years; but the power and Love of Our Great God, the faithful love of her husband, and finding the right doctors and therapy brought her through.  So much of her life was spent consumed with thoughts of death; but the past eight years have been filled with light, life and joy.

Those around her who have seen this change firsthand urged her to write a book about her experience, to encourage others who might be where she once was.  Though she never dreamed of being an author, God made a way.  But I Liked It… and Other Lies was released June 17, 2014..  A large portion of any profits made will go to her passion; the prevention, rescuing and restoration of sex trafficking victims.
